It takes two wings to fly and two winemakers to create a heavenly wine. Montes Wings is the joint project of Aurelio Montes father and son: two generations, two talents and their double ambition united to prepare a unique Carmenère on their winery in Apalta. The grapes mature on the steep slopes of the finca, the wines in mostly new French oak barrels. Both give Montes Wings this typical and yet very unique character, supplemented with a little Cabernet Franc, which elegantly underlines the juicy fruit and fine spice of the Carmenère. Powerful, smooth and complex with aromas of dark berries, black pepper and the sweet toasty notes of cask aging. Beautifully balanced with an endlessly long finale.
