The Montes “Twins” in Apalta and Marchigüe supply the grapes for the red wine blend of the same name. Both wineries are not too far from each other in the Colchagua Valley. But while in Apalta Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Carmenère grow on sometimes gentle, sometimes steep slopes, Tempranillo in the rather flat Marchigüe is already enjoying its first Pacific currents. Each terroir shapes the grapes in its own way and gives the deep red blend its uniquely intense and expressive character. Tobacco. Spicy roasted notes reveal the oak maturity for some of the wines (40%) and everything plays together, gently and powerfully at the same time, with ripe tannins and lively freshness.
