La Côte aux Enfants Champagne is made from 100% Grand Cru Pinot Noir and comes from the only parcel of La Côte aux Enfants. This champagne was stored in the cellar with natural cork for twice as long as the appellation requires. The dosage is low, 8 grams per liter. The 2013 wine year was characterized by a sequence of special climatic conditions: a rainy spring combined with a hot summer and the strongest solar radiation ever recorded in Champagne. Despite these severe limitations, this harvest offers high quality grapes, particularly for the Grand Cru d'Aÿ.
Tasting profile:

His story:
Originally, red wines made the reputation of the wine-growing region
Champagne out. The Pinot Noirs from the municipality of Aÿ were Henry IV's favorite wines and were among the most popular at the French court. La Côte aux Enfants comes from a very steep plot in the immediate vicinity of Aÿ. Jacques Bollinger patiently rebuilt it at the beginning of the 20th century, even though it was then divided among more than fifty owners! Bollinger is now the owner of 4 contiguous hectares at this location. Since 2009, these plots have been cultivated according to the principles of organic farming.
