Penfolds' love of elegant sparkling wines inspired an unusual collaboration. Together with the Reims champagne house Thiénot, they created an exquisite Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru single-vineyard vintage champagne, prepared exclusively from grapes from old vines in the Grand Cru Avize. Peter Gago and Nicolas Uriel master the cellar work as a dream team. 2013 is the second release of their Blanc de Blancs vintage champagne. Matured on the lees for around seven years, it seduces delicately and powerfully at the same time with fragrant aromas of hazelnuts, dried fruits, pannacotta and slightly smoky, mineral notes that reveal its terroir as well as the grape variety and its long maturity. Expressive, pure and lively with beautiful length and fragrant citrus freshness.
