La Grande Année is Bollinger's tribute to the great vintages of Champagne. The base wines, sourced exclusively from Grand Cru and Premier Cru vineyards, are fermented entirely in oak barrels. They mature under natural cork for at least six years, and usually longer, on the lees. Following time-honored traditions, the bottles are then hand-riddled and hand-disgorged.
Tasting Profile:
Appearance: A shimmering golden hue that reflects the wine's maturity as well as Bollinger's production methods.
Bouquet: A fruity, crisp, and subtly iodine-rich aroma. Initially, aromas of cherry and lemon mingle with quince and bergamot. Subsequently, notes of hazelnut, almond, mirabelle plum, and peach round out the perfectly balanced aromas of this Champagne.
Taste: On the palate, a fine and intense effervescence unfolds, followed by a pleasant lightness and a balancing, delicate acidity. Its very fine texture and saline finish ensure a long aftertaste on the palate, rounded off by complex aromas of fruit and citrus. A light wine that gradually unfolds, eventually revealing its full potential and intensity.
Food pairing: Mediterranean sea bass, Grenaille potatoes, and zucchini blossoms. Scampi ravioli, foie gras, and fleur de sel. Seared scallops with citrus butter and kombu royal.

Its story:
La Grande Année is the epitome of the savoir-faire that has always been passed down at Bollinger. It matures exclusively in small, used oak barrels. Champagne Bollinger has never abandoned this time-honored method, as it fosters the development of exceptionally fine aromas. After extended aging on the lees, each bottle is still riddled and disgorged by hand.
