Above the Kestener Paulinshofberg and in direct extension of the Brauneberger Juffer, you will find the south-south-east facing steep slope "Monzeler Kätzchen". The few hectares of the classified, old heart of the vineyard extend about 160-200 meters above the Mosel and are characterized by fine-grained topsoil, as well as blue slate, clay slate and a small amount of loess. Since the pussy willows always bloomed early in this particularly warm microclimate and the vineyards could be seen from afar, shining brightly as a harbinger of spring, the vineyard was given the name "Kätzchen". These old vines in the best parts of the vineyard have deep roots in the fine, stony soil and produce a mineral, very elegant wine with both yellow fruit aromas and floral nuances. The bouquet has fine aromas of yellow fruit, lychee and nuances reminiscent of flowers. Very charming on the tongue, ripe tropical fruit paired with stone fruit and fresh herbs. An elegant, mineral finish with juicy quince and cool slate.
