Blanc de Noir stands for white wine made from red grapes. The Pinot grapes Schwarzriesling, Spätburgunder and Frühburgunder for the Dr.Koehler Blanc de Noir were harvested ice cold early in the morning and then gently pressed. The 100% expansion in stainless steel barrels gives it its freshness and balance and at the same time underscores the characteristics of the different grape varieties. With a cool nose of mirabelle plum, green apple, vegetal notes and herbs, this Blanc de Noir is slightly sparkling, mineral and very dry. It is named after the Kaisermantel butterfly, which can often be found here in the winery.
