A Grüner Veltliner straight out of a picture book. Inviting, complex nose of jasmine and apple blossom. Dried apricots, ripe mango, chamomile and light tobacco. Significant fruit sweetness, wonderfully creamy thanks to a good one and a half years on the fine lees and with a mineral smokiness that gently carries the wine. Long aftertaste. An early accessible Grüner Veltliner, but with a potential for maturing that should not be underestimated. A very good and substantial food accompaniment not only for Austrian cuisine and certainly not only for baked goods!
